# 300% of the trade amount deposit stored with a arbitrator... who is this?!

I see you have to you to put up a 300% of the trade amount deposit stored with a arbitrator… who is the arbitrator? Is the deposit guaranteed safe? Who and where and how stores the deposit? When is it returned?

Security deposits are not stored by any single party, they are locked in a 2-of-3 multisig with you,the arbitrator and the other trader.

Security deposits are customizable so you can always set it to fit your trade amount reasonably.  
If security deposit is a large percentage of your trade amount by default, that means that you are trading an unusually small amount, but would still be able to customize it before making an offer.
