Bisq is using 6.2 GB of RAM on my computer. I noticed this since day one back in March, but didn’t give it too much thought until now. Does anyone experience something similar? Is this normal at all?

Running a fresh instance uses 2.5 GB on my side. But [other’s report similar experiences](https://www.reddit.com/r/bisq/comments/cjwpw4/bisq_uses_a_lot_of_cpu_cycles_and_ram_at_startup/). Are you using the latest version 1.1.4? Was it this heavy before?

Yes. It happened since back when I started in March. Yes, I’m using 1.1.4. It was always heavy. Should I do backup and reinstall?

I’m not sure that would solve whatever is causing the problem, but it’s worth a try. Do a backup to somewhere safe and erase everything Bisq related from its [directory](https://docs.bisq.network/backup-recovery.html#back-up) before reinstalling.

On my Debian computer Bisq uses 1.1GB.
6.5GB seems quite a lot.
Maybe this could be related to using an old and/or big wallet ? many open offers or trades ?
Just guessing.
Please take care to not reveal confidential infos about your Bisq use.

I also encounter the fact that Bisq is using up to 6 GB of RAM running under Ubuntu 18.04.

However it is not really reproducible. After a restart it will usually go away…

I think there are also some GitHub Issues concerning memory consumption.

There are more than 10 trades completed, all of them were completed with the seed generated when I started using Bisq. I also have some BSQ in the wallet, but that’s it. I’ll try reinstalling and see if it helps

UPD: reinstalled, restored backup, still over 6 GB of virtual memory usage.

CPU=36% seems also quite high.
CPU=6% on my Debian.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this has something to do specifically with Ubuntu.

There were already discussions about this kind of issue on the github.

I think we can dismiss the 36% CPU because it’s a third gen core i5

My Ubuntu 18.04 with I7 ca. 1,3GB

I’ve already seen one resembling issue on the github.
Best thing is to open an issue on github, but I feel this may not be easy to solve.

can you maybe create a memory snapshot with [https://visualvm.github.io](https://visualvm.github.io)

process manager output does not really say much about memory usage.

I am cocerned as well. Bisq always consumes 100% of one CPU (on debian). What is it doing all the time?

Me over here with my 4 GB laptop.
Now I feel like I must test it on low-power hardware.
