# Bitsquare upgrade

Hello all,  
Can I safely upgrade from 0.4.9.9.3 to the latest release?

It is a non-backward compatible change from pre 0.5 to 0.5.3.  
You cannot import the wallet, you need to send the funds via a bitcoin transaction. Beside that there are no problems, the data are kept separate so when you install 0.5.3 you don’t interfere with the old app.
