# Cant sign up

Hi I downloaded onto mac a few days ago. Now its asking for password, or if not then to restore from seed. I dont have either because I did not set all this up. But without it I can do anything? Please advise me.

When you first launch Bisq it’ll recommend you to set up a password to secure the wallet if you haven’t set up one you shouldn’t be prompted for it. Also there’s no “signing up” in Bisq. Can you share a screenshot blanking out sensitive info.

You can always rename your data directory which is at **/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Bisq** and start Bisq from scratch. Bisq will create a new one at the same location next time it starts.

Please write down your seed words in future. This is the best way to prevent loss of BTC in future.
