# Changing base currency

If I make Dash or Litecoin my initial base currency, how long does it take to change base currency to BTC? Would my security deposit be automatically converted?

It doesn’t take any time. It just requires a restart and you will connect to the other network.  
No, it would not. You need to complete all the trades (not sure, but I think you should anyway) before you change it.
