I am very new to bisq, but I would like to shift my account and wallet to another computer , that can stay online for trades. However after entering the seed words and date of my previous wallet, I received a warning that this process is only for emergencies, and data may be lost. To switch computers , Is it recommended to start over with a new account? ---

If you Copy the bisq data directory from the old machine to the new machine it should work. If all looks fine, don’t use bisq again on the old machine. Make sure to delete the data directory and uninstall from the old machine. Make backup of the folder just in case first. It should be fine. Im sure iv done the same before with an offer open, but not taken. ---

You need to move over the complete data directory. the seed words is not enough. you must not use both at the same time and when moving back be sure to not mess up otherwise you data get out of sync. all bisq data are in the data directory (account/backup button to open it). ---

I’m assuming “all bisq data” includes the amount of time the account has been in good standing? This is an important concept if you want to bring your higher trade limits with you when moving machines. ---

I am not sure what you mean by “good standing”, since there is no kind of reputation in Bisq. Better late than never I guess. I just moved Bisq from my Windows 7 machine to a new Windows 10 machine. 1. Copied/transfered the Bisq installation folder from W7 to W10 via a USB drive. 2. Copied/transfered a copy of c:\Users\your user name\AppData\Roaming\Bisq from W7 to same location on W10 via a USB drive. 3. (There was another Bisq folder in c:\Users\your user name\AppData\Local\Microsoft… folder, but I didn’t copy it because it pertains to Microsoft.) 4. Searched through the W7 machine registry with regedit.exe and exported every Bisq key (3 in all), copied them to the W10 machine, and double clicked on each of them to install them into the W10 registry. Only one refused to install. 5. Started Bisq in my W10 machine and everything runs OK just as it was on my W7 machine. Nothing lost. 6. Deleted the old W7 Bisq installation folder.
