# Custom account name

Hi all,

I’m just new to Bisq and I’ve asked myself this question but I’ve not yet found a proper answer.  
What’s the point having the possibiity to set a custom account name?

I mean I have to show my full name anyway in “Account owner full name”, there’s no privacy anyway.

It is just a form of label I believe. Not something that shows to the other trader, but something that shows in your app so you can select the account that you wish to use for a trade.

Custom account name is just a local display name and not shared with the peer.
