# Discrepancy between bitcoin prices

In the Bisq client, it says “Market price by BitcoinAverage”

At the time of writing this post, the bisq client market price is BTC/CAD:5599.88.  
Going to the BitcoinAverage site shows 5189.18 for CAD.  
Hovering over the bisq price shows the latest price was only 1 minute ago.

Why the difference?

BitcoinAverage provides 2 prices: global price and currency markets.

Bisq uses currency markets.
