# Do I need to stay online while waiting for payment?

In short: No.

You need to stay online for open orders to be visible.

Otherwise the client can be closed safely. You want to check often if progress has happened in the trade in order to take action promptly. This leads to short trade times and a good user experience which helps everyone.
