# How do I migrate my Bisq account to my new HDD?

Hello,

How do I migrate my Bisq account to my new HDD?

My HDD (on Mac PC) is currently corrupted and I will need to reformat my whole HDD, and reinstall Bisq app. I cannot start Mac to access Bisq app interface and export accounts directly from Bisq. However:

1. I can access all files on HDD using Terminal window (before system boots)
2. I have Bisq seed.

copy the app directory.

On Mac you should be able to find a data directory at: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Bisq  
On windows: [USER]/.local/share

After you have Bisq installed on your new HDD, replace the app data directory with your backup.

I just realized (I’m working right now on my broken Mac)  
that I cannot access the HDD any longer.

Can Bisq account data be accessed using seed?

You can always recover funds with your seed.

App data cannot be recovered with the seed.
