# Is it possible to cancel a trade?

Hey, I am new to Bisq and have run into some trouble. Is it possible to cancel a trade in progress before fund have been sent?

If no, what are the repercussions for being unable to complete the transaction? And is there any way for this process to be initiated before the “Remaining transaction time” has run out?

You can’t cancel it during the trade, but you can open a dispute by pressing cmd+o, that way you can say everything to the arbitrator and he will sort it out.
