Not possible. You can create or accept an offer to trade the BCH into BTC, then buy any supported alt with the BTC.

Dash, BTC AND LTC can be used as base currency. But not much point, all the action is with BTC as the base currency.

Couldn’t the base currency be changed from Litecoin or Dash to BTC after the initial security deposit is made? My friend does not have BTC to loan me.

No. Trades in different base currencies occur in different networks. All trades must be finished before switching base currencies, at least that makes sense to me.
