# Maker's Dai as a Currency

Hi Bisq community! I’m Greg, head of business development for [MakerDAO](https://makerdao.com/). After years of work, MakerDAO has created a fully-collateralized, decentralized stablecoin (Dai) on the ethereum blockchain. It is currently pegged to the USD and you can see its trading history [here](https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dai/). I would like to propose that it be added as a new currency on the platform.

PS–I am not sure if this is the appropriate way to make this request, so if it’s not please point me in the right direction.

You can add it as an altcoin and you will need a java developer to make a pull request on Github for address validation code. Here is a document with full requirements and instructions
