I recently updated to v1.10.4 (on win10, if that matters) and since then I’ve been getting a bunch of Javascript related errors and frequent requests to resync DAO (E: which I do each time, but keeps happening) so I figured I try to do a fresh install, but when I go to create a backup before uninstalling, I get this:

“Warning

The directory you have chosen is not accessible.

Error message: The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file”

I have tried using several different locations on 3 different drives, but the same keeps happening.

_It is backing up some information_, but I’m concerned it isn’t complete/has errors.

Is there a safe way I can verify the back up and/or fix the problem and create a clean one?

TIA!

This option inside Bisq software just does a backup of the Bisq directory files. While this error persists, you can do a backup of the files by manually acceding to it, by copying and pasting the corresponding files:

> **[While Bisq is closed - Backing up application data - Bisq Wiki](https://bisq.wiki/Backing_up_application_data#While_Bisq_is_closed)**
>
> When Bisq is closed, you can simply copy the entire data directory and paste it somewhere safe. Find the location of your data directory by clicking on the Open Directory button (see screenshot above) or see data directory locations here.

Ah, perfect, thank you! I knew I must be missing something…

I’ll get on that later today and try the fresh install, hopefully it sorts everything out!
