# Question about 'Country' under General Preferences

I just would like to know, when setting this Country field, is it shown to other users? If not then what is the purpose of it? Not that i want it to be shown to other users, but just asking.

I am actually not sure. It is probably there to help a user with language settings or something.  
Maybe @ManfredKarrer can explain this to us 🙂

No its not used for showing to other users. It is part of the java locale to distinguish formatting rules.
