Are my BTC lost?

Hello everyone,

Hoping someone can offer a solution/assistance. I had my Bisq running on my computer, but had to re-install windows and the bisq program was uninstalled. I installed it but it created a brand new wallet instead of the one I already had. Is there a way to restore it (I do have a past transaction where I sent funds from Mycelium to Bisq) so I know the amount that is gone (and I didn’t buy anything as I didn’t have enough for a trade in the past. Is there any way I can restore or is my BTC gone?

To recover your funds you need either:

  • A backup of your Bisq data folder.
  • The seed and corresponding date of your Bisq wallet; There’s a specific date associated with the seed.

Without one of the above, unfortunately you will not be able to recover your funds.

The date corresponding to your wallet doesn’t have to be exact, it’s just where Bisq will start looking for transactions when syncing.
At Bisq you have to protect your funds with your seed and Bisq data folder backup, there’s no other way to retrieve the funds.
