Bisq won't start up

hi, I cannot start up Bisq. I’m getting this error message:

Warning
Connection to the Bitcoin network failed because of an error:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Expected PENDING or IN_CONFLICT, was BUILDING

I have read this may be due to a corrupted wallet? I have not been making excessive unconfirmed offers nor trades; I have at most 2 offers / trades going at once.

What are the recommended steps to get Bisq running again?

Hi, first make sure you copy your directory and save it somewhere.

All Bisq data is stored in one place:

macOS: /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Bisq
Linux: /home/<username>/.local/share/Bisq
Windows 7+: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Bisq
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Bisq

After having done that try deleting the bisq.spvchain inside the Bisq/btc_mainnet/wallet/ folder and restarting Bisq.

Success! I followed these steps and Bisq is back up and running. Thanks, @huey!

Should I do something, or avoid certain trading, to prevent the wallet corruption from happening again?

The wallets used in Bisq, grow in size as you make trades. At some point it may be wise to create a brand new wallet.

However, it’s difficult to tell why it would have corrupted. Perhaps your Bisq app was shutdown incorrectly? … Power loss, etc.

I was getting the exact same error. I follow the steps and fix it. After that I notice that my BSQ was gone. I moved the bisq_BSQ.wallet file from the copy I made and the issue came up again.

I replaced the file back for a new one and I am good to go now.
I just wanted to tell you’ll know what my issue was and say thank you for the Instructions.

Thanks Again!!!
