The last 6 days using this platform has been hell{bisq2}, every time i launch the app after a reboot it forces me to make a new account and i have to manually manipulate various files and directories to regain the ability to see my old trades. I attempted to make a final trade before i stopped using using this platform because the 1st one was successful but it appears the bitcoin seller im trading with has run off with my funds {BitOG} and because this software is dogshit on linux i cant see my open trades to even open a dispute and the support in app is useless. I will wait two more days before initiating a chargeback and posting all screenshots on relevant platforms to warn others. I have my trade ID and any other information if any mod here wants to help, from what i read it’s required for seller to have a reserve on the main Bisq app in case of situations like this.
Use bisq2 or Matrix to talk to mediators.
The seller needs to be banned if it’s confirmed that is a scammer.
I am not aware of the bugs you’re reporting, maybe you should do a proper github bug report.
Hi, I remember your case from Bisq2.
BitOG has a 8+ months old account and over 58k reputation score, that is not 100% safety guarantee but still good enough… I would think this is more likely something on his side that is forcing him offline rather than a voluntary scam, but then again, game theory.
Reputation is there to make inconvenient for a seller to burn BSQ and then scam buyers, especially since the account aging and reputation staking in the first year was not over for him yet…
In any case, you say you have done multiple trades with him in the past, that is not the intended scope of Bisq Easy, as its main goal is to let nocoiners get a little amount of btc, so they can cover for the depost on Bisq1, where there is larger liquidity, better prices all over for buyers, and an inherently safer trade protocol.
There is no refund for cases like yours on Bisq Easy, as there is no deposit transaction there, that is why the protocol is thought for small trades, only directed at obtaining enough BTC (usually at least 0.0005) to pay for the first trade deposit on Bisq1.
That is why, considering 50-60USD trades, is wouldn’t pay for sellers to even think about scamming, on top of the risk of losing their burned BSQ. Making large and/or repeated trades as a single buyer on BIsq Easy means undercutting its security model, to an extent.
If enough time passes (I would aim at 2 weeks with no reply) and BitOG doesn’t turn up, his account can be banned, you can in fact report him on Bisq2 right now, and then ping me after 2 weeks of silence, so I can finalize the ban. If he has issues, and comes back to apologize and make you whole, I can unban him.
