A quick question, can i use an external wallet to fund a trade and at the same time, choose BSQ for the trade fee currency?
How does the program handle that? Does it wait for the external wallet transaction and then makes the BSQ trading fee transaction within the bisq program, using my BSQ wallet and funds?

Yes, as long as you already have BSQ in your Bisq wallet (DAO - BSQ wallet - receive).
Funding an offer from an external wallet is not very different from funding a trade from Bisq wallet, it’s just a GUI shortcut for traders who don’t have BTC in their Bisq wallet yet, but on the blockchain the same amount of tx’s are needed (external wallet - bisq wallet - fund offer).
