Fatal: destination path 'bisq-desktop' already exists and is not an empty directory

Linux Fedora latest version:
Upgrading bisq from 7.0 to 7.1 via https://github.com/bisq-network/bisq-desktop/blob/master/doc/build.md#build-bisq

The installer complains that the path ‘bisq-desktop’ already exists. Can I just remove this path with all content or do I need to backup anything before? Have for the next two weeks no access th the seed so I’d prefer to delete not too much …

Thanks for helping in advance.

If I were you, I would backup. It doesn’t cost much, and it’s more safe.
You can just rename it.

You’re right. Will do it now this way. Of course I’m not sure if there isn’t data stored in other paths but in worst case I need to start from the scratch and use the seed as soon I can.

Thank you!

You can just rename the whole ~/.local/share/Bisq directory .
So you miss nothing.

This is the directory where all the data are in Debian.
it’s probably the same place with Fedora.

Yes it’s the same path. May be I copy/backup the ~/.local/share/Bisq because otherwise I assume I start with new empty accounts with 0 balance.

Thanks.

Yes, if you already had things, copy/backup is the best.
(And twice doesnt hurt.)
