Growth: Starting a market in Ghana

Hello, Im trying to start a market in Ghana, however, there is no payment method that allows for transfers of the local currrency (Ghanaian Cedis - GHS). The most common payment method here is mobile money, mainly through MTN (the local mobile carrier). Would it be possible to add this feature as a way to send and receive local currency? Thanks

Right now, you have the following methods that should work:

  • Cash Deposit
  • National bank transfer
  • Transfer with the same bank
  • Transfer with specific bank

A quick search of Ghana’s MTN lead me to this document and more specifically point “18. Money Transfer Reversals”. From my layman understanding, it seems like this payment method could be listed in the future.

@Emocoy how would you prove that you sent GHS through MTN to someone else?
