When synchronizing to the BTC Mainnet I get an error
Google.Protobuf.InvalidProtocolBufferException: Protocol message contained an invalid tag (zero)
I get this error message every time when I replace the Bisq_BTC.wallet, delete the chain, and start Bisq.
with all my backups.
Quite a bit of BTC went to a Bisq receive address that vanished I think after update, trying not to lose my shit.
Thanks for any help.

I don’t know about this error message. I would try to use the backups at another computer and if that doesn’t work, use the seed to rescue the funds.
What happens if you start Bisq without a Bisq folder to start Bisq from and create a new instance? (or use --appName=NewInstance
)
What OS and Bisq version are you using?
Using bisq 1.5 on windows 10 OS works fine when auto installed
When I try to use a backup and resync chain it gives the error on both my Virtual and Real machines.
Did you ever use this backup in 1.5 and then reinstall an earlier version?
