Seller requests payment to different account

I’m buying BTC using SEPA transfer and the seller asked in the chat to make the payments to a different IBAN.

I know that it is advised to follow the exact payment details provided in the offer, but also saw users say that working things out in the chat is fine.

I have no problem paying to the different IBAN but wanted to know if there’s any reasons why I shouldn’t do that.

It’ll be up to you in this case. As long as you and the trader come to an agreement in chat then you can proceed. The trade rules are being broken but you both agree so it’s fine.

Take screenshots (in case) of your chat conversation. In the event that he doesn’t release funds. There’s a slight risk on your side right? But as long as you have proof of the request to sent to a different IBAN you’re covered.
