Shutdown in progress

Shutdown in progress on ubuntu has taken over 1 hour and still open. Due to the warning I am hesitant to force quit the app. (v0.9.3) Is force quitting safe? Prior to quiting the app I had canceled two sales and noticed that the funds never updated on my available balance. I quit the app to see if it was just a gui issue and upon re-oopening the funds that were originally up for sale would be displayed in my balance.

Please advise.

Ok app finally just crashed and upon reopening the funds appeared. false alarm i guess

You can look at the log file in ~/.local/share/Bisq/ to find errors during that crash that could better explain the issue that occurred here.

No.
Force quitting may absolutely result in corrupting data, so better avoid it if you can.

@alexej996
My bisq is also currently stuck on shutting down and I am afraid to force close. What should I do?
Edit: i am on windows 10.

@merenkov what did you do? You just waited? How long?

if you cannot avoid force quitting,
a simple safety measure would be to make a copy of the Bisq data directory before.

Bisq data dir locations:

  • Mac OSX: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Bisq
  • Linux: /home/username/.local/share/Bisq
  • Windows 7,8,10: C:\Documents and Settings\username\AppData\Roaming\Bisq
  • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Bisq

Yeah, I would just follow Homrad’s advice and close it anyway.
