UK 0.9btc seller, please take note

I want to buy some btc from you, but when I try to buy I get this message showing in the client:

“[…] the user who created the offer has used an older version. Users cannot trade with an incompatible trade protocol version.”

I’m using v0.4.9.9 – are you using an older version? Can you update please so we can trade?

The seller will not receive your request through the community forum. In fact you can’t communicate with the other trading part. If the seller you chose to trade with is using an older bitsquare version, then you have to try a different trader.

Unfortunately there isn’t much you can do here. You can’t take that offer, the other trader will have to use newer version as the fees are too low and the bitcoin transactions will not confirm that easily. It is likely that if they visited the forum they would already update to newer version.

Thanks Stam. Just so I’m clear, is that a forum rule, that we can’t communicate with other potential trade partners through this forum? I could understand if that were the case, what with the wish to promote privacy and all…

And thanks alexej996 too.

Unfortunately, there is another UK trader on who has an offer for 1.0btc for sale, but I have to buy the whole 1.0btc; the interface is telling me the trade is for a minimum of 1.0 and maximum of 1.0btc! Yikes, I wonder if the trader knows they’ve set up their offer that way? I certainly can’t afford a whole nine-hundred-and-something gbp…

I guess we’re all getting used to bitsquare, it probably ain’t perfect yet, but the devs are sure doing a fantastic job so far.

No, it’s not a forum rule. In here though (in-forum) you won’t find the other part. Xe might be a forum member but it’s not possible to identify each other (bitsquare trading offers anonymity).
You can discus though any issue you might have with bitsquare.

As for your other issue concerning the whole BTC offer, it is what it is. The other trader chose to offer 1 BTC without offering the option to buy a percentage of the whole amount. Your only option is to wait until someone else offers a different trade.

If the word Bitcoin ir Bitsquare is used in the reference text open a dispute by cmd (or ctrl) + o. It is not allowed to use those words as some banks are very hostile and close accounts when they find you that the customer is using Bitcoin. It is displayed in the popup, but people tend to not read that.
