Update on Bisq trading halt

As a precautionary measure, DAO and API components of Bisq have been temporarily disabled. Trading will be re-enabled once the security audit of those areas has been completed and the updated release is ready.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thanks for the update. But can you give a more specific idea about when it will be possible to trade again? Are we talking, for example, a day, a week, or a month?

Hi.

First of all, thank you for what you are doing. Truly.

Now. You need to stop managing issues this way and you must start providing better topic updates.
“Thank you for understanding and we will give you updates soon” don’t work well.

I understand why you are halting trades, but:

  1. you need to add a proper message. The “update to the latest version” thing is misleading. Please create a new notice.
  2. you must give us an ETA, even if approx, you must provide one.

You do realize how many people relies on this software, right?

Thank you.

  1. I agree with that, I think ”Update to last version when ready” should be used if it’s ever required again.
  2. An ETA will add even more pressure to developers, or become a false promise to users. I don’t see a good reason for any of these.

@CJE We’re talking about day/s.

Hello again. Is it possible to have an update? In reply to my question, you talked about needing day/s. That was four days ago. Are you encountering problems that are extending the timeline?

Bisq trading was restablished 3 days ago, with the launch of a new version:

Some DAO functionalities, like pay trading fees with BSQ or trading, don’t work yet.

Thanks for that.

I thought it was just BSQ swaps, thanks for the info. Just acquired some BSQ with the intent to use it to help reduce BTC trading fee costs. Guess that also will have to wait for the next update.
